They do best in a medium that has good drainage and dry between watering. Give them a short dryer rest after blooming.

Cattleya lueddemanniana grows on the northern coast of Venezuela. It is fragrant, warm to hot growing and needs bright light. It blooms in summer or fall.

This plant is in sphagnum over peanuts in a 2 1/2-inch clay pot. It is a seedling with four pseudobulbs and stands four inches above the pot.
