Bulbophyllum caudatum
The genus Bulbophyllum (Bulb) contains 1500 species found in all tropical areas on earth.
Bulbophyllum caudatum grows in north-east India, Nepal and Sikkim. It is cool to warm growing and does well mounted. It blooms in late spring.
This plant was overgrown and in serious need of repotting. The best way to deal with the main part of the plant after the leads were removed was to treat it as a mass of backbulbs. When new growth starts, the pieces can be individually potted.
05/10/2009 - Found new growth on four of the pieces so I mounted them on cork.
09/08/2008 - Added to collection from the member sale table at the SFOS.
