Laelia anceps 'Boulder Valley' HCC/AOS
The genus Laelia (L) has a few species in Mexico and parts of Central America. The South American species have been reclassified as Cattleya.
Laelia anceps grows well and blooms well in cultivation. It grows in Mexico and Honduras. It is warm to hot growing and needs a dry winter rest and bright light. If it is dry it can winter outside if there is no hard freeze.
This plant is a division of the plant exhibited by Pat Trumble, Boulder, CO. and awarded the HCC by the AOS in 1983.

Four flowers on one inflorescence, bright rosy-lavender sepals and petals; petal tips slightly darker; lip red-violet with yellow crest with white halo; flower of exceptional size, substance and form, slightly wilted. AOS award #83-217, awarded on 2/14/83.
