Bulbophyllum lilacinum 'Raj'
The genus Bulbophyllum (Bulb) contains 1500 species found in all tropical areas on earth.
Bulbophyllum lilacinum grows in Malaysia and Thailand in a humid and shaded environment. It needs year round feeding and watering.
I am calling this a backbulb but I had to think about it. It was taken from the edge of a friend's plant and is a lead. On the other hand, the last three generations have seen each pseudobulb smaller than the previous one and roots are sparse.
10/25/2008 - Added to collection as an inactive lead from a friend's plant growing off the edge of the mount.
