Oncidium splendidum 'Marty' x self



The genus Oncidium (Onc) contains 600 species from throughout Central America and South America. They grow in a wide variety of environments. If you know a little about where the species grows, they do very well in cultivation.
Oncidium splendidum grows in Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. It is a warm to hot growing lithophyte, needs bright light and blooms in spring and summer.


This plant is in sphagnum over peanuts in a 6 1/2-inch clay pot. There are four pseudobulbs and the plant stands 13 inches above the pot. From the Sea God nursery
